Rachael and Luke, a wife-and-husband duo, care deeply about healthy and rich-hearted people. They have a mutual passion stories and art.
While Rachael’s path includes writing children’s fiction and publishing letters to adults, Luke’s passion is for studying marriage and family therapy while writing poetry and helping others fight digital addictions.
They dream for This Half Acre to provide resources that honor storytelling and imagination.
Rachael’s Writerly Affiliations:
Once upon a warm North Carolina afternoon, a fifth-grade girl perched on the school curb. Waiting for her carpool, she began to read a large hardback book, a mighty tome called Mossflower.
She fell hard for the stories, quickly realizing that reading was a magical power. She could go anywhere. She could explore anything through fiction. No books were out of her reach.
She’s a mom now. An author. A human on the humbling journey to become softer and more curious. And she’s realizing that fiction is more powerful than she ever knew. The power to empathize, wonder, explore, and hear truths.
I’m Rachael, and I'm writing for that 10-year-old girl. Maybe for 10-year-old you too? For your kids. For the kids who walk into your library or classroom. For your grandkids, the kids down the street, and the families in the homeschool co-op.
